Zine Making Club (Grades 6-12)

Thursday, September 223:30—5:00 PMSibley HallGroton Public Library99 Main St., Groton, MA, 01450

FIRST MEETING POSTPONED TO OCT. 6

Are you crafty and curious? Do you have something to say or to show? Why not learn how to
create, publish and distribute your own zine! But what IS a zine, anyway? A zine is a casual
and self-published work that falls somewhere between a mini-comic and a fanzine. They are
usually stapled, glued, folded, cut and collaged. They can be any size. They can be about any
subject and serve any audience. No writing or drawing “talent” is required – only a passion
to communicate!
Through a mix of in-person and at-home assignments, students will explore the history of
zines, complete a variety of fun projects, and work toward publishing their own personal zine
that will be collected in a special section of the YA room at the GPL.

The Zine Making Club is facillitated by local artist Caleb Brown and and will meet every other week, BEGINNING OCT. 6,  this fall. Grades 6-12.

Registration for this event has now closed.
