The Wild Inside: The Secret Lives of Semi Aquatic Mammals
The Nashua and Squannacook Rivers are home to four truly memorable semi aquatic mammals, the North American Beaver, the North American River Otter, the Muskrat and the American Mink. From the Beaver's multipurpose tail that allows it to steer, communicate, and keep its balance on land, to the Otter's closeable ear and nose flaps, to the Mink's slinky body, these animals are perfectly adapted for life in and out of water. If you've never seen one of these animals in real life, you're not alone, as they are a secretive bunch! Using her locally gathered photos and videos, and footage from motion sensitive cameras, Nashua River Watershed Association science presenter Gaynor Bigelbach will give you a glimpse into the hidden lives of these amazing animals.
The Wild Inside Series of presentations have been made available by funding from The Nashua Rivers Wild and Scenic Stewardship Council
