VIRTUAL: Stand Up for Libraries: Learn What's Happening in Massachusetts & What You Can Do
Tuesday, February 105:30—6:30 PMZoom

Libraries are some of the most important institutions in our world today. Beyond simply providing education and numerous programs, they give people a place to connect with one another, and explore what the rest of the community is doing.
If you want to support libraries but don't know how, or what in particular is going on in the state of Massachusetts with libraries, this event is for you. At the virtual event there will be speakers who have had experience with legislation and supporting libraries, and what their experience is like, alongside an informational presentation that shows what challenges there are, and what we can do to help.
Speakers:
- Commissioner Karen Traub, of the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC). Appointed to the MBLC in 2021, Karen Traub is a veteran library advocate with nearly three decades of experience in governance and infrastructure development.
- Roan DeMeis-Dullea, Event Organizer and Principal Library Advocate, working to give back to libraries because they have meant so much to him and his family in his life.
- Vanessa Abraham, Groton Public Library Director
