Mass Audubon Nature Explorations for Grades 5-10 at Rocky Hill Sanctuary, Cardinal Road, Groton

Second  in a series of 3 classes that  will investigate a different environment at Mass Audubon’s Rocky Hill Sanctuary. A naturalist from Mass Audubon will lead us as we search for the animals and plants that live there, investigate adaptations, and observe ecological interactions and partnerships. Spend time exploring outside doing hands-on observation, field journaling, and detective work to figure out how habitats function. Attend one class or all three.

July 12: Swimmers, Divers, and Snorkelers. Investigate aquatic and wetland habitats.

July 19: Flying, Jumping, Crawling. Explore the powerline.

July 26: Under the Trees. Search for what lives in the forests and shady soils.

Please sign up individually for the class or classes you wish to attend. Parents are welcome to attend with their children.  We will meet in the Parking Area at Rocky Hill Sanctuary on Cardinal Road.  Weather plan: We will cancel  for heavy rain or thunderstorms, but will go ahead in light rain.

Please bring water, insect repellent, and dress for the weather and being outdoors. Also bring a notebook to journal in, and a writing implement. We’ll provide any other tools/equipment.
