Tuesday, October 185:00—5:45 PMSibley HallGroton Public Library99 Main St., Groton, MA, 01450

**You must sign up for each class separately.** This course is designed for those kids in grades 3 to 5 who would like to explore, discover, and create a simple model with Lego bricks. Once the kids familiarize themselves with the details, they learn to combine the LEGO bricks and create a simple program to model different Lego objects. Theses classes are taught by Miss Divya and Mister Caleb.

What We Achieve:

Through instruction building and creative play children broaden their mind, develop logical thinking, and reinforce communication skills to be a better team member. The knowledge learned through this course will enable kids to create unique constructions from Lego pieces.

What We Study:

Throughout the course of 4 weeks, the kids will study different machines we see in everyday life such as cars, helicopters and submarines. We can expand the concept to include different kinds of motion such as rotary motion using wheels, axle, pulley, straps etc.

Session 1 (October 4): - Underwater Quest. In this session we will learn how to build a submarine to get in and out of the water.

Session 2 (October 11): - Spinning Ferris Wheel. In this session the team will learn how to build a Ferris wheel and make the program to spin the wheels at different speeds.

Session 3 (October 18):- Building a Taxi. During this session the students will work on a code to make a taxi move. They will also be able to test one factor at a time to determine its influence on speed.

Session 4 (October 25): - Building a Helicopter. We will start with building a Helicopter. Once we build a Helicopter, we will create a program that starts the helicopter.
