IN PERSON: Still Blue with Elizabeth Goldring Piene

Thursday, July 67:00—8:00 PMSibley HallGroton Public Library99 Main St., Groton, MA, 01450

Elizabeth Goldring, a long-time Groton resident, will read poems and comment on images from her latest book Still Blue: New and Selected Poems and Retina Prints.  As a poet and visual artist who is legally blind, Goldring explores different ways of seeing —through the concision of poetic syntax, through her innovative experiments with the scanning laser ophthalmoscope while at MIT, and through poems that consider vision, its loss, disability more broadly, human mortality, natural beauty, destruction and war.  Her reading will also include poems and images from her life in Groton.
