Four week series delving into lesser known aspects of Black culture. Each session provides a comprehensive exploration of a time-period tying Black history in Boston, Massachusetts, and New England to not only wider U.S. history but to the global histories that are largely hidden and disconnected.

• Week 1 January 15: African Roots and Early Black Life Through the Revolution

• Week 2 January 22: Black MA: From the Early Commonwealth to the Civil War

• Week 3 January 29: Black Boston during the Great Migration, WWs and into the Civil Rights Era

• Week 4 February 5: Afro-Futurity: Contemporary Issues and Discussions

Bro. Joel Mackall is an award winning Educator & Project Developer with the ReIdren Business Group based in Roxbury MA. He is the co-founder of the S.O.S. Living Museum, the Hidden History of Black Boston Tours, the Nubian Writer's Group and is a self-published author. He has also served as secretary of the Cameroonians of Lowell Association, as an officer on the Warren Gardens Housing Cooperative board, on the advisory council of the Network of Immigrant and African American Solidarity and as a technology chairperson with the Black Community Information Center.
