Come hear the story about how the Groton's own Josh and Amy Degen got involved with the restoration of a Jewish cemetery in Bialystok Poland. Why Bialystok? What does the work entail? See how much they have achieved in their quest to make this the most beautiful Jewish Cemetery in Eastern Poland. Learn how this restoration sparked local interest in the Jewish history of Bialystok which had 150,000 Jews up until June 1941 and now has less than 5. Why is this work important? A great example of how to preserve memory. There will be a video, powerpoint and time for questions.
