IN PERSON: It Just Ain't So: Discovering Our Deeply-Held Beliefs About Aging
Saturday, October 510:30—11:30 AMSibley HallGroton Public Library99 Main St., Groton, MA, 01450
The society in which we live has many negative stereotypical ideas and beliefs about the elderly. Saying "That's a senior moment" or "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" allows our society to remain hurtfully ageist. In this talk, explore recent, credible research to help us question our deeply-held beliefs about getting older.
This program will be interactive, featuring small discussion groups as well as whole group mindful attention to body, breath, and senses.
Barbara Rich, M.Ed, a totally healthy 90 1/2 year- old Groton resident, Special Education Advocate/Parent Consultant, and Yoga/Meditation teacher.
