IN PERSON: Creative Play Workshop
Saturday, January 611:00 AM—1:00 PMSibley HallGroton Public Library99 Main St., Groton, MA, 01450
Connect with community in this exciting multi-dimensional workshop that explores Creative Play through drawing, painting, and the spaces that surround us! Art educator, Emily Hall, invites adult artists of all levels into a series of simple practices that investigate our immediate perceptions via the elements and principles of art and design.
Participants may openly share their discoveries, reflections, and ideas while connecting to their artistic 'process' of creativity rather than an art 'product'. Short introductions and an opening mindfulness exercise roots participants into a space of community and relaxation for effective creating. Complimentary take-home materials are offered for creative play practice that aim to foster the expansion of their own visual language.
Emily is a middle-high school art teacher in southern NH, with a master’s in art education and a bachelor’s in graphic design. Her interest in the innate nature of human curiosity has led her to creating the structure of this workshop for all people willing to ask, “What else is there to see? How might it feel? And what could it mean?”
Priority will be given to Groton residents until one week prior to the workshop.
Made possible by the Groton Public Library Endowment Trust.
