If you want to start seeds without all the equipment, mess, and daily attention requirements, then Winter Sowing is for you! Find out why this seed starting technique is growing in popularity. This is a hands-on workshop where participants will be given “how-to” details and then have the option to assemble their own mini greenhouse and plant some seeds. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own translucent, one gallon jugs (eg. Water or milk jugs). Soil and seeds will be provided.
About the Speaker: Judith Taylor has been gardening in Massachusetts for over 25 years, is a graduate of the UMass Green School and has attended The Seed Savers Exchange Seed School. She has hands on experience with growing all sorts of perennials, fruits, and vegetables as well as landscape design.
Her passion is to share her knowledge with new gardeners as well as exchanging tips and tricks with those more experienced. She is using her experience from teaching classes at many local universities to spread the word on seed starting, growing and saving to inspire people to get hooked on gardening! In her spare time, she manages the Littleton Seed Library and coordinates an annual seed share program for her garden club.
Made possible by the Groton Public Library Endowment Trust.
Registration for this event opens Tuesday, November 26 at 10:00 AM.
